Hare Krishna 🙏
My name is Brajvilas Das (Amod Lohokare), and I humbly seek your support for my mother, HG Laxmi Seva Devi Dasi Mataji (Mrs. Lata Vasant Lohokare), a 70-year-old devotee of the ISKCON NVCC, Pune congregation. She needs bilateral total knee replacement surgery under Dr. Narendra V. Vaidya, Chief Joint Replacement Surgeon at Lokmanya Hospital, Nigdi, Pune.
My mother has suffered from chronic knee pain for more than 10 years. Now she finds it difficult to walk even with a walker, and she cannot stand for long. After her consultation on 28 September 2026, Dr. Vaidya advised a staged bilateral total knee replacement. We have planned for the robotic method, as Dr. Vaidya is an expert in it and his patients have been satisfied with the results. Her pre-operative tests are already done, including blood tests, knee and spine X-rays, ECG, 2D Echo and a bilateral arterial and venous Doppler.
The surgery is estimated to cost about ₹6–6.5 lakh, and physiotherapy and rehabilitation after the surgery about ₹1 lakh more, around ₹7–7.5 lakh in all. With our limited means, our family has arranged about ₹3 lakh ourselves. We humbly seek your help for the remaining ₹4–4.5 lakh.
I served full-time at ISKCON for more than a decade. Today I continue my book distribution seva while working as an auto-rickshaw driver to support my family. My father passed away only recently, and I am now caring for my mother. We live in a rented flat in Pune, and ISKCON NVCC, Pune has kindly recommended her case to VaishnavaCare108.
It is very difficult for our family to meet the rest of this cost on our own. Your contribution, however small, will help my mother walk again without pain.
I humbly request you to offer your support, prayers, and seva.
🙏 Hare Krishna 🙏

3. To provide financial support, maintenance and development of holy places and goshalas.
Apart from the Razorpay transaction fee, we also bear other overhead expenses, including website domain and hosting charges, CA (Chartered Accountant) fees, and other relevant costs. Consequently, to account for these essential expenditures and ensure the smooth functioning of our campaigns, we typically apply a deduction ranging from 1.5% to 2% per campaign.
If the beneficiary is not able to submit the bills for the entire amount collected in a particular campaign due to which some amount remains with us, then VaishnavaCart108® will utilize it for future campaigns.
The directors and volunteers working for VaishnavaCart108® do not receive any salary from the campaign funds. Instead, they provide their services voluntarily as an act of devotion. The campaign money is solely allocated to the intended beneficiaries, however a small percentage of the campaign money (1.5-2%) is deducted towards covering overhead expenses (Website & Domain maintenance charges, Chartered Accountant fees, and any other miscellaneous charges which may arise from time to time) and Payment gateway fees.
Therefore, we humbly request your understanding and patience until your campaign is scheduled for posting.
If you would like the campaign url in advance for your own circulation, we will be very happy to prepare and share them with you, which you must have also noticed as an option in the campaign posting option field while submitting campaign request. However, the official posting from our side will be done only when it is due, keeping the above considerations in mind.
We truly appreciate your cooperation and support. 🙏
Under the Income-tax Act, 1961, money received by an individual from non-relatives without consideration may be treated as taxable income under Section 56(2)(x) if the total amount exceeds ₹50,000 in a financial year. In medical emergencies, multiple well-wishers often contribute, and such receipts in a personal account can unintentionally create significant tax liability for the patient or their family.
When donations are routed through a registered NGO:
The funds are treated as charitable receipts of the organisation, not personal income of the patient.
Registered charitable entities (with valid registration under Section 12AB) can claim exemption on income applied for charitable purposes under Sections 11 and 12 of the Act.
This structure ensures proper documentation, audit trail, and utilisation of funds strictly for the stated medical purpose.
It prevents future scrutiny or disputes regarding the nature of receipts in the beneficiary’s personal tax records.
Where applicable, donors may also be eligible for tax deduction under Section 80G.
This approach safeguards the patient from unexpected tax exposure and ensures that all support reaches the intended medical use in a compliant and transparent manner.
