Hare Krsna Dear Devotees,
My name is Sandip Talekar and am from Akola, and I am writing with a humble request for the wellbeing of my wife, Pranali.
About a month ago, during a routine checkup, doctors discovered that Pranali has a 26 mm hole in her heart. This was confirmed after a 2D echo was done following an abnormal ESG report. As explained by the doctors, this condition is not recent but has likely been present since childhood, though it went undetected due to the absence of regular health checkups and no major illness until now.
Over time, Pranali has lost significant weight and is currently just 31 kg, whereas her healthy weight should be at least 50–55 kg. Her TR jet is 130 mmHg, which is alarmingly high compared to the normal range of 50–60 mmHg. With such a high heart function pressure and very low body weight, surgery cannot be performed immediately as it carries a very high risk of complications and possible organ damage. She also struggles with normal breathing.
The doctors have currently advised medication to stabilize her heart condition and help her gain weight before surgery can be safely done. However, there remains a serious risk of sudden complications, which may require urgent hospitalization at any time.
The cost of the surgery itself is estimated at 3–4 lakhs, and while this can be reimbursed under a government scheme, there will still be hospitalization, medicines, and post-operative care costs of about 2 lakhs, which are not covered. At present, I have been out of work for the last six months, surviving only with the kind support of friends and family. I have already taken a personal loan of Rs. 50,000 to manage initial medical and diagnostic expenses, but the ongoing costs are becoming overwhelming.
In the next 1.5 months, we expect medical and diagnostic expenses to reach up to 3 lakhs before the surgery can be scheduled. At this difficult time, I sincerely request your kind financial assistance and prayers for Pranali’s recovery. Your help will directly support her treatment, bring her closer to a safe surgery, and give her hope for a healthy future.
We will remain ever grateful for any support, no matter how small, that you can extend in this dire situation.
With folded hands,
Your servant,
Sandip Talekar
